JOSEPH JACKO, M.D.

Dr. Jacko is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and specializes in the non-surgical orthopedic care of athletes and non-athletes.

Prior to joining the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in 2006, Dr. Jacko was in private practice for 14 years with the Dallas Orthopedic Center in Dallas, Texas. During that time he served as a team physician for the Dallas Independent School District and helped coordinate athletic care for the district’s 21 high schools.

Dr. Jacko earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio and his Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Hughston Orthopaedic Clinic in Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Jacko is board certified by the American Board of Internal medicine with a certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine.

Upon completion of his Sports Medicine Fellowship, Dr. Jacko joined the staff at the internationally known Cooper Clinic in Dallas, Texas specializing in preventive medicine and wellness.

His areas of professional interest include concussion management, injury prevention, athletic performance and wellness, and athletic low back pain.

Dr. Jacko is married. He and his wife, June, have two boys. As a family they enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. They especially enjoy Ohio State Football games.
